A trip to London would be incomplete without a visit to England’s largest and oldest food market – Borough Market. This over than 1000 years old renowned food market is located in Southwark, Central London and is easily accessible by train, tube, bus, bike or on foot. 😀 My sister and I dropped by Borough Market after visiting the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Getting There

Borough Market is located next to the London Bridge station, which is serviced by the Jubilee and Northern lines on the London Underground and by mainline trains from all over London and the south of England.

Besides the trains, there are bus stops at London Bridge, Borough High Street and Southwark Street where visitors can get off and walk easily to Borough Market. 😉

For those who plan to drive to Borough Market, parking spaces are available in Jubilee Place. Charges are £4 for a maximum stay of 2 hours. Cyclists can park their bicycles at the designated bike racks also available in Jubilee Place.

Borough Market, London is open six days a week from Monday to Saturday. It is closed every Sunday. The market is divided into 2 – Limited Market and Full Market.

On Limited Market days, not all of the stalls and shops are open, but there are still plenty of traders here offering a wide range of products. On Full Market days, all of the shops and stalls are open and that is ideally the best time to visit Borough Market, London. 😀

A Memorable Time at Borough Market

My sister and I love food, and I especially love grocery shopping very much. Therefore, we enjoyed our visit to Borough Market, London even if it was only for an hour plus although we wished we had more time to ourselves.

We walked past the stalls and shops at the Market and treated ourselves to the colourful sights and lovely aroma of freshly baked bread, cakes, pastries and a variety of local and international food on sale. We especially love the olives, cheese and fresh fruits section. 😀

There are several cafés, bars and restaurants where visitors can have a coffee break, enjoy a bottle of beer or two and savour some freshly prepared gourmet food at Borough Market, London. The overall ambience of Borough Market is pleasant and happening. Be sure to visit it when you are in London, United Kingdom.
