So, the official tramping or hiking season in New Zealand has begun! If you are planning to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, please watch this highly informative video before you go. The video takes you through the entire 19.4km track and shows you how to prepare for a successful day out, so that you make it home safely. 🙂
How I wish this video was made available before I did my Tongariro Alpine Crossing back in 2016. It would definitely help me prepare better in tackling one of the most challenging day hikes in New Zealand. Although beautiful, it can be dangerous if you are not fully prepared to enter an alpine environment.
Extreme weather, terrain and distance have resulted in this track having the highest number in search and rescues in New Zealand. So, WATCH > PLAN > ENJOY + SHARE this with your friends to help others get ready for their next adventure.
Safe tramping/hiking and enjoy the experience. Chur! 🙂
